This is the image for the news article titled Bell Time Change

Why did the bell time change?

Many schools rang a first bell to get the students lined up and then a second bell to signal the beginning of school. This cuts into teacher prep time 5-minute each morning as they come to gather their classes directly after the first bell.

The district and the teacher union has asked all schools ringing a bell within the 30-minute prep time to shift that bell to the start of school time.

Therefore, our first bell rings at 7:55. This signals the beginning of school and students line up, while teachers come out to walk their classes into school. The second bell at 8:00 is now a “late” bell.
