Dear John Hay Elementary families and staff,

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Jerid Morisco, based on the recommendation of the John Hay interview team, has been selected as the new principal of John Hay Elementary School.

Dr. Morisco has been an educator for 32 years, working as an elementary school teacher, middle school teacher, high school teacher, department chair, team leader, and elementary school assistant principal. Most recently, Dr. Morisco served as the acting principal at John Hay Elementary School. The hiring team, made up of a diverse group of staff, system leaders, and parents, recommended Dr. Morisco due to his collaborative nature, organization, and commitment to equity and excellence in teaching and learning.

We are excited to have Dr. Morisco continue his career in Seattle Public Schools. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Jerid Morisco as the principal of John Hay Elementary.
